Afenifere attacks National Assembly for declaring Osinbajo’s N135.6 request ‘overtaken by event’

The leading Yoruba social-political group, Afenifere has flayed the National Assembly for declaring Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo’s 135.6 billion virement request “overtaken by event.” Osinbajo as the Acting President while President Muhammadu Buhari was in London on medical vacation, had, on July 20, 2017, written to both chambers of the National Assembly, seeking approval for the re-allocation of some funds in the 2017 budget. The sum was needed to execute some critical projects such as the Lagos-Ibadan express-way and the Second Niger Bridge. Afenifere said the lawmakers’ decision showed insensitivity to the plight of Nigerians. Afenifere, also said on Wednesday, that the legislatures’ action showed some of them were against development. Reno Omokri bombs Amaechi for saying Jonathan embezzled $65 billion

Amaechi had earlier stated that Former president, Olusegun Obasanjo left $65 billion in the Excess Crude account(ECA) but was embezzled by the Jonathan administration. In Jonathan’s defence, Omokri pointed out that Amaechi was chairman of the Nigerian governors Forum along with APC members in the house of Representatives obtained an injunction preventing Jonathan from operating the ECA. “Mr. Amaechi led the governors in taking the federal government to court. The Jonathan administration offered an out of court settlement with the governors in a deal that would have seen the federal government sharing some of the money and saving up the rest for Nigeria’s future but the governors rejected the offer,” the statement read. Man lands in court for hacking into Living Faith’s online store

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Wednesday arraigned one Chimezie Chuta before a Federal High Court in Lagos for alleged cybercrime. Chuta was accused of hacking into the online bookstores of the Living Faith Church, popularly known as Winners Chapel. He, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge. The EFCC in the charge marked, FHC/L/441C/17, alleged that Chuta committed the offence on March 8, 2016. The accused was alleged to have altered the online data of Dominion Bookstores platform belonging to Living Faith Church Worldwide and created a counterfeit platform. The alteration was said to be for purposes of conferring economic benefits on himself. The EFCC said that the actions of the accused had caused the church to lose its publishing unit. It said that the offences contravened the provisions of Sections 14 and 16 of the Cybercrimes (Prohibition) Act 2015.
