Faleke, Melaye ask Kogi gov to resign over alleged double registration

REACTIONS on Friday trailed the indictment of the Kogi State governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) over his alleged double voter registration. Prominent among those who expressed their views on the matter are the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP); the deputy governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the last election in the state, James Faleke and the senator representing Kogi West senatorial district, Dino Melaye. The PDP said it had been justified and vindicated that the governor acted illegally and should be made to face the wrath of the law. “Double registration is an offence under our laws and we are happy that INEC is doing the needful now. Bello doesn’t know the law and unfortunately he has surrounded himself with amateurs. Soldiers, others roasted in Cross Rivers tanker explosion

Three Soldiers and three other civilians were roasted to dead when a tanker carrying petrol exploded in Iwuru in Biase local government area of Cross River State. The truck, in an attempt to avoid the deplorable part of the road swept and emptied the content. After the crash, an eyewitness told our correspondent in the area on Friday that 3 soldiers, travelling in the opposite direction when the accident occurred, rushed to rescue the driver and the conductor but the tanker exploded into a hell of flame, burning them beyond recognition. Popular musician-turned-activist, Chukwuemeka Charles Oputa, popularly known as CharlyBoy, has criticized Pentecostalism in Nigeria, stating that their preaching is solely based on systematic fraud. The convener of OurMumuDonDo movement took to his Instagram account on Friday to slam pastors who preach for money.
